Waiting in the fairy ring

Inside the circle soft grass waits

 and takes us quickly behind its gate

I wanted to meet some new friends today

So I went to my closet and dressed for play

I took off my shoes, I took off my dress

I took everything I didn't want to get messed

I put on the head and the big coat that I wear

then I went out the door and looked for the bears

Conifer sisters-New in my shop

These two little girls are sprites. 

They live in the forest and take care of the plants, trees (mainly conifer trees) and fungi's that grow there. 

They are usually sweet but have a playful side. For example I caught  them digging up a poor squirrels acorn and reburying it in a new location. They told me if squirrel could not find his 

acorn they would tell him where it was after awhile. They said to me "its just a game". Then smiled at me in the mischievous way that they have.

Well I meant to do another antique etching collage but the twins would not let me. They said NO! They are pretty selfish little girls and they love the spot light. I had to wait until they had balanced themselves 

just right before they let me take this shot.

 but I do like it as is.

Easter

We had a really nice easter yesterday. Em was so so excited about the easter basket I put together for her. Then we went to my moms and she got two more baskets and hunted for eggs again. She was so funny. She would scream every time she found an egg. I don't know who had more fun The grown ups watching her find eggs or her finding the eggs. 

My mom made roast beef for dinner. So good. 

When we came home we all went to the park with the neighbors and their kids. It was cold but still fun. So all in all it was a good day.

Today is Saturday. We got up, watched t.v., drank some coffee, took showers, and then went to Target, Burger King, and the library. Em took out 5 books I took out 3 and Ralph took out one book on c.d. . Then we came home and had left over burritos from Anna's for dinner. After dinner we made easter eggs for the easter bunny to hide tomorrow. Then Em took a bath and I went out and bought Em's Easter basket stuff. Em went to bed, ralph is working on the computer and i just finished a new piece called Frozen. I posted frozen to my websites. Except for this one which I will do now. Whew! What a day. :)

Busy week

I have been busy this week. I made my first three sales! Dance lessons, Lost and one of my digital drawings A long journey. I am so excited! (Visit The rabbit hole to view these. Elsa

Working on this for my etsy shop. Also subbed it for Illustration Friday. The topic was- heavy.

Something new. I painted into this a lot more than I usually do. 

Its not quite finished. Not sure if I should put it in my shop. Its very different than what is in the shop at the moment.

I did some painting finally!!!! I will post a pic of my progress eventually.

O.k. so I did some more on this after I said I would not. I could not get motivated until late this afternoon to paint. I did do some painting just not as much as I wanted to. I feel like I should do some more before going to bed but its not always a good idea to paint when I am unmotivated to do it. Thats when I make most of my mistakes. The ones I can't fix because I painted them with a dark color. Once I get to a point where I really like what I am working on then its o.k. to paint when I don't want to. It may be hat I killed my last painting so this one I am hesitating a little more on than the others I have finished. Once this ones finished I will be done with the painting part and then I will just have to do some borders on them and touch ups. Then I will be ready to ship them out. I think there will only be 6 total but 6 is better than 5 and so on. 

I started this over the weekend. I have this week off since Emily is visiting her grandmother in N.Y. I plan on using the time to paint my but off. :) I wanted to do something fun before I went back to painting. Tis is what I came up with.

I spent all day literally on this stating at 9:30am  and ending at 5pm Its still not finished but it will have to wait untill I get my paintings done for the April show.
